Win BodyArmor Sports Drinks

Bottle LineUp.lowresIt’s hot and you want to be your best, so enter to win BodyArmor sports drinks.

If you’re trying to set a new sports PR or want to take your fitness to the next level, the best way to achieve your goal is to focus on your sports nutrition. That’s why you’ll want to enter this giveaway for a chance to win BodyArmor SuperDrink. Ten Appetite for Health fans will win six bottles of BodyArmor SuperDrink, one bottle of each flavor.

As a sports nutritionist and avid CrossFitter, I’m always looking for products that provide a performance advantage. One of the absolute best ways to help ensure that you can get the most out of your body is to use a sports drink if you’re doing any type of endurance activity or high-intensity stop-and-go sports like ball sports or CrossFit.

Being just slightly dehydrated will decrease athletic performance more than not getting enough calories, carbs or lean proteins. And what’s more, many active people aren’t getting enough fluids, which means they aren’t able to perform at their best. (For hydration guidelines and tips to assess your hydration status, we provided some of our best tips here.)

I always like to try to sports drinks, as there are so many available. When I received BodyArmor SuperDrink samples last week, I was more than curious to try them. First, the company’s “ambassadors” are some of my favorite athletes, like the SF Giants’ catcher Buster Posey; as well as NFLer’s like the Indianapolis Colts’ QB Andrew Luck, and the New England Patriots’ Rob Gronkowski, among other all-star athletes.

Nutritionally, an 8 oz. serving of BodyArmor SuperDrink has more electrolytes and vitamins than other sports drinks and is 10% coconut water. An 8 oz serving has 70 calories, 18 grams carbs, and is low in sodium and high in potassium (300 mg per serving), an important electrolyte lost in sweat. What’s more, it’s fortified with 10 vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, C and E; B-vitamins; magnesium; and zinc. They also have no artificial colors, flavors or sweeteners.

BodyArmor comes in six great flavors including Fruit Punch, Strawberry Banana, Tropical Punch, Mixed Berry, Orange Mango and Grape. To me, sports drinks all come down to how they taste because if you don’t like the flavor, you won’t drink enough to get a performance advantage. I thought all of the BodyArmor flavors were great, and liked Fruit Punch and Orange Mango the best.
