Today’s yoga “prescription” from the The Doctors’ female co-host: Enter to win a Dr. Lisa Yoga DVD!
Appetite for Health friends like their yoga, so we keep looking for good DVDs to please yogis of all abilities. This weekend we’ve got 5 copies of Dr. Lisa: Yoga Blast to share with our readers, details below.
We all know how hard it is to “find time” for exercise (hint: you have to make time, not find it). And if you could get a workout done in 20 minutes that made you feel good and helped increase your strength and flexibility, wouldn’t you be able to schedule that into your day? That was the thinking behind this new yoga DVD from Acacia Lifestyle called “Dr. Lisa: Yoga Blast. As a busy doctor, TV host, and author, Dr. Lisa Masterson seems to have figured out how to fit exercise into a busy schedule. We received a free copy of this DVD in the mail to try out, here’s what we thought…
The three 20-minute workouts on this DVD are accessible for beginner yogis, which is important to me (because that’s what I am). It was nice that these workouts, though not what I would necessarily call “easy,” were not so difficult that I couldn’t get through them. Workouts are supposed to be kind of tough—that’s why the word “work” is in there!
Though I’ll admit right here that I don’t watch The Doctors on TV and therefore wasn’t really familiar with Dr. Lisa (I’m not much of a TV watcher), I found her to be quite pleasant and likable in this DVD. I also liked that nationally-certified instructor Elise Joan was leading the way— incorporating some “blasts” of cardio and strength exercises, along with invigorating stretches and even a couple dance moves. These were fun workouts, and they’re only 20 minutes long—we ALL have 20 minutes a day to claim for ourselves in the name of our good health and fitness!

I have a yoga mat, I have gained five pounds, I have joint issues, I have a limited (extremely) income-the only thing I don’t have is a yoga DVD geared for those who have never done yoga before and can’t afford private classes. Time flexibility is great as well. I would love one of the DVD’s!
I think it would be because you don’t have to drive somewhere, there’s no excuses why you can’t do it. There’s not a classroom of students who can be distracting. and for someone who isn’t super fit (yet) I wouldn’t have to worry about my bum in the air.
Doing workouts at home is super convienient for me, and I’ve been wanting to try yoga out for some time now. This would be perfect for a beginner like me~!
Doing Yoga at home is so perfect for me because it can be worked into my unpredictable schedule, and I can use it for whatever I need it for on any given day, at any given time. To relax, to energize, to loosen up, to strengthen. It’s such a versitile fitness “genre”!

Convenient especially for a beginner like me.
I do yoga every other day at home. I am always looking for a new DVD to use. I love the feeling of lengthening my muscles.
The best thing about doing yoga at home is I can stay in my pajamas! The second best is doing it at my convenience.
Still doing recovery rehab since my car accident in August 2012. Think this at home yoga program would be beneficial and not have to travel to do it!
I can do yoga in the privacy of my home.
I’ve never really done yoga before and the thought of doing it in a class is super intimidating! Starting out at home would be great.
I have yet to try yoga, but it is on my “bucket list” at age 74. I think I would like to first try it in the privacy of my own home and when it is a convenient time.
Being able to do yoga in my home would be great especially on these cold, snowy wintery days when I go not want to even stick my nose out the door.
By doing Yoga at home I am able to fit it in between working with my family’s schedule and taking care of household needs. It would work out perfectly.
It’s the only way it will happen… I’m not a workout with other people kind of person :]
I would like to add yoga to my exercise routine.
I am a 50 year old overweight & out-of-shape mother, wife, & teacher who realizes that I need to take control of my life. I would like to start eating healthier and exercising. My 23 year old daughter wants me to join her in yoga class but I don’t feel comfortable. I think these DVDs would be the start of a whole new life for me. Thank you!
I love the stretching it provides after my runs.
Yoga is so relaxing and calming. I enjoy doing it at home because I can do it anytime.
The best thing about doing yoga at home is knowing that you don’t have to worry about being judged!
I think the best thing about doing yoga at home is that you can do it at your own pace and comfort. Some of those positions are challenging and quite awkward and by doing at home, you will feel better about it.
I personally prefer to work out alone. I can take as many breaks as I want or need.
First, I love Dr. Lisa! I watch her on The Doctors every day. I like to do yoga alone at home because I’m overweight and can’t do some of the positions. It’s embarassing doing it in front of other people.
I love yoga at home because you don’t have to be self-concious. Also, DVDs are always on YOUR schedule, not someone else’s and I can fit them in anytime.
I can do it on my own schedule.
