No, it’s not a typo! We have five Yonanas frozen dessert-making machines to give away to some very lucky Appetite for Health readers! See the details below.
Not familiar with Yonanas? If you haven’t seen their commercials, you might not be aware of this delightful little dessert-making machine. The Yonanas is a small kitchen appliance that turns frozen fruit into a delicious, smooth dessert that looks and tastes like soft-serve ice cream. Healthy fruit “churned” into an ice-cream-like treat—what’s not to like?
Now, I don’t know about you, but at my house bananas frequently seem to get overripe before we get around to eating them all. I NEVER throw them out though, instead I peel them and freeze them. Why? Because I hate to waste food first of all, but secondly because nutritious bananas are versatile, even when they’re frozen. Banana bread and morning smoothies are great uses for leftover bananas, but now that the Yonanas machine is on the scene, I see my surplus bananas being used much more quickly!
Using the Yonanas machine to make a chilly treat is a simple, delicious way to get the goodness of fruit in novel way. Bananas form the basis of many of the Yonanas recipes—they lend a creaminess to the finished product that makes it more ice-cream-like. And as luck would have it, bananas are super-nutritious. They’re packed with potassium (important for blood pressure regulation and muscle control), a decent source of fiber, and a good source of vitamin B6, which can help boost immune function. Add in some other frozen fruit, such as berries, peaches or mango and you’ve got even more nutrients—not to mention a cool and tasty concoction that you won’t find in any supermarket freezer aisle. Not a banana fan? No worries, you can make your dessert sans bananas and still enjoy the taste and convenience of the Yonanas machine.
How does it work? It’s so easy…you take a couple ripe bananas that you’ve previously peeled and frozen bananas (peel them before freezing) and push them into the chute of the Yonanas machine and in minutes you’ve got sweet, fruity goodness in your bowl. And here’s the bonus: while you’re enjoying your creation, you can add to your pleasure by thinking about all of the fat and added sugar you’re avoiding by eating a Yonanas-produced frozen treat instead of ice cream. Ah, life is good.
Ok, want to win one of these cool appliances? We’ve got five of them lined up for our AFH readers. To enter, “Like” us on Facebook and then “Like” Yonanas on Facebook, too.
