AppforHealth + BlogHer = Big News

Appetite for Health Logo Thanks to you—our readers—Appetite for Health has been identified as a leading health, nutrition & diet blog!

Just last week, the largest women’s blogger social media network, BlogHer, asked AppforHealth.com to become part of their publishing family.

In case you’re not familiar with BlogHer, it’s the premier women’s social media network, representing some 2,500 blogs that collectively reach more than 25 million readers a month.

The network contains many of the “best in class” blogs like The Pioneer Woman, Steamy Kitchen, Lynn’s Weigh, and too many others to name.

BlogHer Publishing Network & AppforHealth: What You’ll Gain

We thought long and hard about the pros (we thought there were several)  and cons (not many and most just related to the look of the site) of joining the network, and decided it was a good opportunity to reach more readers.

First, being part of BlogHer won’t change anything about our posts and the site’s content.BlogHer Publishing Network

You will, however, see a BlogHer newsfeed (in the right side-bar) that includes links to featured posts from other BlogHer members.

A perk for you is that the sheer size of the network means that you’ll get access to more online promotions, sweepstakes and contests from our site, that we would never be able to implement without being part of the BlogHer Publishing Network.

As part of BlogHer, blogsites like ours are automatically part of BlogHer’s advertising network.  However, AppforHealth.com will not accept ads for many major categories including processed foods with low nutritional value (aka junk food), pharmaceuticals, infant formulas, diet industry, alcohol and other advertising categories we’re not comfortable with. We also have the option of declining any proposed ad from BlogHer.

  7. I am moving to Connecticut from warm and sunny Utah. I have heard that it can be cold and wet in New England.

  21. This would be so great for my Dad who just started a salt-free diet due to his health issues. 73 years old but still cooking. We are trying to make his diet with things he likes slightly modifying them by eliminating salt. Like, Liked and still Like!!!!
